Cleaning armchairs properly - tips from a professional

Our many years of experience show: If you clean your armchair regularly, you will save money in the long run, maintain comfort - and significantly extend its service life. We distinguish between three types of cleaning:

Basic care: To keep your favorite armchair looking good day after day, it should be regularly cared for by vacuuming, brushing and damp wiping. Everyday soiling such as house dust and contact soiling are removed in this way. Regular care with suitable cleaning and care products also helps to extend the life of your chair.

Cleaning: If the chair is exceptionally dirty, special cleaning agents are used. Whether it's a spilt glass of red wine, leftover food or a mishap caused by small children - our POS professionals are on hand with the perfectly coordinated care and cleaning ranges for your material. Special attention must be paid to the right products - an artificial leather armchair is cleaned differently to an antique armchair with high-quality fabric upholstery.

Stain removal: the fine art of cleaning. Care is required here. Incorrect stain treatment can even lead to a worse end result. Typical mistakes when cleaning your armchair upholstery:

  • over-soaking, which can cause lasting damage to the material

  • wild rubbing of the stain so that it spreads even further

  • Scratching, which leads to almost irreparable damage to the surface, especially on a leather armchair.

  • Cleaning with unsuitable household cleaners.

Contact our POS professionals in case of stains. Having your favorite armchair cleaned is an investment that you will enjoy every day.
